The Ozark Underground Laboratory field station was built to house students, researchers and professional groups during their visit. The site consists of three buildings; the Field House, Bunk House, and Bath House. The buildings are comfortable and rustic, but simple. This is intentional. We encourage our guests to be outside as much as possible.
The Field House
The Field House is the main gathering space for groups. It has a full kitchen, dining space, and fire place. The building also has three sleeping bunks and a half-bathroom. Outside, there is a screened in porch, picnic tables, and a fire ring for good conversation about science, stewardship, and the natural wonder of caves and karst.
The Bunk House
The Bunk House has two bunk rooms with a classroom between each room. Each bunk room has 10 bunks with partitions to allow for a bit of privacy. The classroom can also be used as additional sleeping space.
The Bath House
The Bath House has three showers and three toilet stalls, with a door to create separate sides for males and females. The building also serves as a storm shelter.
